About Gudvangen
Gudvangen – or Gudvangr means: The field of the gods by the water.
It is situated at the end of The Nærøy Fjord, Sogn, Aurland Kommune, Norway. It have approximate 100 inhabitants.
The Nærøy valley is 30 km long including fjord. On 10th of June 2006, it became part of the Unesco World Heritage. According to The National Geographic magazine rated the Nærøy valled, a total of 87 points as the world's No. 1 natural heritage site, along aside with Geiranger Fjord.
It has an industry of white anartosit which is a type of granite that only exist in Gudvagen. This is used for rock wool, aluminum, asphalt, toothpaste and more... Gudvangen has also been a major cruise ship attraction since 1850's.
